Don't hire "sales people" to drive NEW business acquisition. They don't like it and are terrible at it :)

  1. I agree that the 'normal' salesperson doesn't know how to attract new business.

    Would the title of 'Business Development Mgr' fit the type of person it takes to develop new business?

    In other words someone who enjoys a challenge, thinks outside the box, trying to see all the possibilities?

    Besides 'sales' is currently a dying profession. With the internet most customers do their own research there and only use 'sales people' as order takers.
